But like most kids who say that , i AM the spitting image of my father. Right down to some of the mannerisms that i truly did not like growing up. Not to mention the hairstyle. He did his best to raise 2 young boys with the help of HIS parents. I have felt the sterness of the likes of my Dad, his Sister, Grandma, but i have to say Grandpa would gently place YOUR head between HIS knees so there was NO ESCAPING! Happy Fathers Day. I to, while growing up, though NOT in the ’60s, wished to be nothing like my father. But like most kids who say that , i AM the spitting image of my father. Having known your Father very well, I think it is wonderful that you have modeled yourself after him and that is a big compliment to both Archie and you. He was a great man. I am very lucky to still have my Father and I try to make everyday important to him and let him know how important he is to me. I do take issue with one sentence in your blog and thought I would comment on that. You wrote "Not every Father is worthy of honor from his children, but for the most part, they are worthy in general"...... Some men have fathered children, but do NOT deserve the title of "Father" ~~ nor is there one worthy bone in their body, nor in general..!!! I can only use my own child's father as the example I am referring to ....... and there are plenty of others like him in this world, unfortunately... You wrote “Not every Father is worthy of honor from his children, but for the most part, they are worthy in general”…… Some men have fathered children, but do NOT deserve the title of “Father” ~~ nor is there one worthy bone in their body, nor in general..!!! I can only use my own child’s father as the example I am referring to ……. and there are plenty of others like him in this world, unfortunately…
