(93rd Birthday, June 13, 2011)
This is the first Mother’s Day without my Mom. I have been trying to come to grips with what would be an appropriate tribute. The following poem expresses, simply and concisely, my thoughts at this time!
If Roses Grow In Heaven
If roses grow in Heaven
please pick a bunch from me.
Place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her that they are from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek,
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day.
But there is an ache within my heart
that will never go away!
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
